Accountant

About the Role

As our Accountant, you will handle day-to-day bookkeeping, VAT, and reporting across a growing, multi-market e-commerce operation. You'll work closely with management on cash flow, payables, receivables, and month-end close — and help us keep financial processes efficient as the company grows. This is a hands-on role with real ownership.

What You'll Do

• Maintain accurate day-to-day bookkeeping in accordance with Czech accounting standards.
• Process invoices (AP/AR), expense claims, bank reconciliations, and payment runs.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, control statements, and intra-EU filings (OSS, EC Sales List).
• Support month-end and year-end close, including accruals and reporting.
• Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and authorities as needed.
• Help maintain and improve internal financial processes, tools, and documentation.
• Provide management with clear, timely financial reports and insights.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as an Accountant or Bookkeeper, ideally in e-commerce, wholesale, or trading.
• Strong working knowledge of Czech accounting standards and VAT rules, including cross-border and intra-EU transactions.
• Confident user of accounting software (e.g. Pohoda, Money, Helios, ABRA, or similar) and advanced Excel.
• High level of accuracy, discretion, and structure — you spot the detail others miss.
• Fluent Czech; working English sufficient for business communication.
• Bonus: experience with OSS, import/export, or multi-currency accounting.
